Honoring the Temple: Why I Do What I Do

March 11, 20264 min read

When I look back at the twists and turns that led me here—to The Hormonal Pharmacist, to hormone testing, to speaking life into women who feel invisible—I don’t just see a career shift.

I see a calling.

This isn’t just about estrogen creams and progesterone capsules. It’s not just magnesium for sleep and probiotics for bloat (though yes, sis, those help too).

It’s about showing women what God has already said about them, even when their reflection doesn’t match the fire still burning inside.

the mission statement behind what I do

“Do you not know that your bodies
are temples of the Holy Spirit, who
is in you, whom you have received
from God? You are not your own;
you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your
bodies.”

— 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Somewhere along the way, we were taught to hustle through the pain, to numb the symptoms, to pretend we’re fine when we are anything but.

But God never told us to ignore our bodies.
He never told us to just “suck it up.”

He said honor it.
Care for it.
Nourish it.
Steward it.

And that’s what I’m here to help women do.

What God Says About the Girl in the Mirror

I spent years looking in the mirror and seeing someone I didn’t recognize. The weight gain. The exhaustion. The anxiety. The “blah” that no amount of coffee or mascara could cover.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

That girl in the mirror? God still sees her.

Even when she’s bloated, broken out, or crying on the bathroom floor because she doesn’t feel like herself anymore.

He sees her as worthy.
He sees her as beautiful.
He sees her as capable of healing.

And He placed people—like me and like YOU—in her path to remind her of who she really is.

“I praise You because I am fearfully
and wonderfully made.”
— Psalm 139:14

That includes the hot flashes.
That includes the mood swings.
That includes the parts of the journey that make us want to crawl into bed and scream into a pillow.

Healing is holy work.

Why I Do What I Do

Melinda

This isn’t just my job—it’s my ministry.

When I help a woman sleep through the night for the first time in years, I know that’s not just better rest—it’s restoration.

When I help her stop the night sweats, the sugar crashes, the low-libido silence in her marriage— it’s not just physical.

It’s emotional.
It’s spiritual.
It’s a spark coming back to life.

Whether I’m explaining the methylation cycle, interpreting a DUTCH test, or consulting with her physician to get her BHRT just right, I’m doing it as an act of service.

Because God doesn’t just care about her soul—He cares about her cells. Her mitochondria. Her mood swings. Her cravings. Her courage.

“Whatever you do, work at it
with all your heart, as working
for the Lord, not for man.”
— Colossians 3:23

This Work Is Worship

Melinda

This is how I honor Him:

By loving the women He made in His
image.

By helping them remember
what He already knows—
that their bodies are not broken…
they’re just begging for care.

By reminding them that
feeling good again isn’t a luxury,
it’s a birthright, as a daughter of the King.

So if you’re reading this, and you’ve been
praying for a sign…

This is it.

It’s time to stop fighting your body and start listening to it.

It’s time to stop numbing the symptoms and start healing the root.

It’s time to look in the mirror and say,

“God, thank You for this body. Teach me how to care for it.”

Because He will.
